Description
Shiraz from the Heathcote region is recognised as quintessentially and distinctively Australian, primarily because of the soils and warm temperate climate. The regional styles range from rich, ripe and substantial to wines of finer fruit, reminiscent of pepper and spice with finesse, textural structure and length of flavour. The Three Centuries style is medium weight and of the latter approach, with further complexity added from fine Nevers, Allier and American oak. The wines are at their best with some cellaring.
